23 Years of Greatness with Lewis Howes

by May 18, 2020

He wrote a book, started a podcast… and the rest is history.

A lot of people don’t know this: Lewis Howes and I go way back.

We met when he was 13 years old, and he was doing what he did best even back then… crushing everybody on the court. Over the years, we teamed up not only on the basketball court, we also played college football together. We stayed tight, and he was there for me at my lowest points as an adult.

It’s not every day that you get to see a childhood friend rise above everything and become the guy who sits down to chat with some of the most famous people in the world. It’s also not every day that he stops by your show to catch up.

For those who don’t know Lewis, he’s the creator of The School of Greatness podcast, a New York Times best-selling author, and has been featured in major publications like Entrepreneur, Fast Company, Forbes, and more. He even made an appearance on Ellen. In the past decade of his success, he’s redefined the conversation about greatness.

In 2008, he was tapped out. He was overcoming tragedy and totally broke. Spending a year and a half sleeping on his sister’s couch, he had a breakthrough that changed everything for him. It turned out that he loved connecting with people, and LinkedIn became his playground.

He wrote a book, started a podcast… and the rest is history.

Thing is, Lewis spent his life working against a learning disability. Yet, somehow he overcame everything in front of him and became a very successful author. The call of greatness was powerful, and Lewis couldn’t ignore it.

He’s an amazing example of marching to the beat of a different drummer. He shows no signs of slowing down, and I’m so thankful to have been there with him since the early years.
