Rediscovering the Mature Masculine

by Dec 16, 2020

Be a king, warrior, magician, and lover.

I’ve been reading this book recently by Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette titled King, Warrior, Magician, Lover. It’s all about rediscovering a masculine maturity we’ve seemed to have lost as the world has developed.

If you’ve been listening for even a few episodes, you know how much this issue matters to me. In case you haven’t been with me for a while, I believe many of us have some sort of “father wound,” which informs much of the insecurity and anxiety we experience as men (and women).

When we don’t break that cycle, we pass it on, and our offspring do the same. The good news, it CAN stop with us. Over the years I’ve addressed the wounds, and gotten clear with my father about what happened because of our relationship.

In this episode of TJKS, we’re digging into some excerpts from Moore and Gillette’s book, to find out what we can do to understand why the world needs more mature, masculine men.

In this episode you’ll learn about…

  • King, Warrior, Magician, Lover. (1:09)
  • Gender confusion. (4:26)
  • Coming to age ritual. (8:37)
  • We need more “mature masculine” men. (13:12)
  • Effective blaming. (16:32)
  • Create leverage by joining a men’s book club. (19:18)
